How To Make Midi Dress Work For You

For some women, one of the most difficult and complicated dresses to wear is the midi dress. With a hem cut in a length that is not too short yet still not too long, the middle ground left by a midi dress is not something that most women would want to step on. The thing is, mid calf dress (or midi dress, for short) is cut in the middle area of the calf, which can look quite cluttered and confusing for some women, especially those who are not too tall and doesn't have the body shape with flattering curves. Having said that, there are still numerous ways on how you can make a midi dress work for you, if you just know which patterns and shapes work best for certain body types. Here is the part where I come in! I'll let you know some information on the things that I think would be able to help you in making midi dress work for you!

How To Choose The Right Mid Dress For You

The thing about midi dress is that you have to ALWAYS consider the body type of the wearer in order to properly assess what type would look good. Remember, no two body types are the same! What would look good on one person wouldn't necessarily mean that it would look good on you even if you have almost the same shape and body size. Still, there are a few guidelines that you can use if you want to increase the chances of making midi dresses work for you.

If you are on the short side but you have a curvy and shapely body, a great way to start is to choose a midi dress that is cut a little bit shorter than usual --- one that sits just right above the calf and below the knee. This cut, also knows as the voluptuous mid dress cut, works great for short women who has a nice shapely hip and curve.

On the other hand, if you are a tall gal with a body that is straight as an arrow (and i do mean that as a compliment, mind you!) the midi dress that would work well on you is what I call the "true midi dress" with a hem that lies somewhat around the calf area. A girl with long legs can pull this one off because the taller you are, you more "normal" a midi dress cut would look on you.

These are just some of the thoughts that I want to share with regards to the topic of finding ways to make midi dresses work for you. Granted that every body shape is unique and different, and this might not work 100% of the time, having a guideline to look at will save so much of your time. If you have some time, just check out this striped midi dress that was pointed out to me by a friend. This is the kind of midi dress that would work well on girls who are lanky. If you have the same body type, do give the website a visit!
