Get Stylish Even During The Cold Season With Turtleneck Tops

Turtlenecks have remained popular for several decades, and with Drake (the singer) making it popular with his new video "Hot Line Bling", turtle necks are once again gaining popularity. The coming Fall and Winter season increased the visibility and the usability of the turtle neck sweater. And although the shapes, cuts and styles have evolved quite a bit over the years, turtlenecks have remained as one of the most well-loved garments in the closet of many people, men and women alike.

During the first decade when they were first introduced, only a few different styles and cuts of the turtleneck sweater were available. These days, turtlenecks an be bought in many different sizes, shapes, styles, patterns, and materials. Women can now enjoy the flattering style of a ribbed turtleneck without having to force themselves to fit inside men's sizes. Different fabrics also give different angles and feel to each turtle neck sweatshirt. With this in mind, I can confidently say that I have a lot more options when trying to shop for a turtle neck top these days compared to the other women before me who had to contend with what was available to them.

What Is A Turtleneck Anyway?

a style of shirt or top that is named for the appearance of its collar which looks like the neck of the turtle, the collar on a turtleneck extends up over the shoulders up to the neck. Some collars of these tops can be folded down or over, thus making them look like the neck of a turtle. Coming in a wide variety of different shapes, cuts and styles, a turtle neck gives you the ability to wear it on casual situations, or use it as your base garment for layering purposes.

As far as I am concerned, the classic turtleneck top still remains the most popular one and the easiest to wear for me. The classic turtleneck covers the entire neck area but it can be folded over if you want to, although it creates a bulky collar around the neck. Another style of turtleneck is the Cowl, which is known to have a wide and funnel-shaped collar hanging loosely around the neck. If you ask me, I still prefer the classic turtle neck shape as opposed to the cowl shape, which can look bulky at times. To let you know what I am talking about, check out this classic slim ribbed turtleneck top and see how beautiful it can be when worn with the right clothes.
