Be Fashionable By Adding Beanies In Your Wardrobe

A simple accessory that can add a little flare to my outfit, the beanie remains as one of my most favorite head gear especially during the cold season of Fall and Winter. As a fashion accessory, the beanie is very stylish and versatile. You can wear it bare or folded, and it will still look good no matter what. Furthermore, the beanie has an insulating ability that you cannot get from a simple snap back cap or hat alone. Because it is knit and created in such a way that it is meant to trap some of the heat inside, the beanie serves not only as a fashion add-on accessory but as a functional piece of garment that is a must-have for the cold weather.

What Is A Beanie?

As a popular variation of a winter cap, the beanie is a head gear that is made from knitted material that you can wear around your head, pretty much like a head cover. Originally made from knitted wool material, the beanie's popularity has allowed its mass production and now they are made other fiber materials like polyester, cotton, wool rayon and even the expensive cashmere. Beanies have been popular among Western countries, but they are also worn in colder regions such as Mongolia. They well loved because they give warmth to the wearer during the winter by serving as a heat insulating headgear.

Most beanie caps are tapered in such a way that the top part of the garment fits a bit snug compared to its lower portion. With so many different variations available nowadays, some beanies can possess ear flaps on the sides or poms on the top, making them unique and fun to wear too. Other beanies might include a brim on the front similar to a baseball cap, giving you an option when you want to protect your eyes from sun glare. Contemporary beanies have evolved so much that they are now available in a wide array of styles, colors, materials and make.

The most popular type of beanie is the wool beanie, and I honestly prefer this kind over other synthetic fibers. Since wool is shed from animal skin, you can guarantee that it will keep your head warm the way it keeps animals warm during winter. Although wool beanies can either be hand washed or placed inside the washing machine, always make sure that you are not going to pour hot water over it. Using water to wash wool beanies is a big NO because the high temperature will make the beanies shrink. I made this mistake with one of my beanies in the past and it really shrunk my beanie that I wasn't able to wear it properly after.
Beanies are great because they serve not only as a piece of fashion accessory but also as a functioning and utilitarian head gear. If you are looking for a nice beanie to accompany you in this cold season, check this pointy knitted beanies from Miamasvin and start to reinvent your fashion today!
