Loving The Henley's Softness And Comfort

As a garment that originally started as a men's exclusive wear, the henley has gone a long way in providing an alternative to the usual clothing that women wear. If you are not familiar with it yet, a henley shirt refers to the collarless, pullover shirt often having a rounded neckline that was originally made for men. Traditionally,  it was made as a men's undershirt, but today it is now manufactured in women’s sizes and styles too. Commonly recognized by its buttoned placket that pulls its neckline together just like that of a polo shirt, the slits of a henley shirt usually run from the start of the shoulder and neckline up to mid-chest area. Whether it is for men or for women, henley shirts often feature anywhere between two to five simple buttons. These buttons are meant to provide additional ventilation and they also make the henley shirt easier to be put on and removed by opening all buttons.

The rib collar and cuffs of henley shirts are well-loved because they add stretchy comfort and they make the garment easier to wear. Wool, cotton, polyester and cashmere blends are some of the more popular materials used in the creation of henley shirts. Depending on what season and weather you plan to wear it, henleys can also be chosen depending on its thickness and ability to keep the body warm. Colors are pretty much varied too, with some modern and contemporary henley shirts for women starting to play with print designs.

Although the henley shirt started out as an all-purpose work shirt and undergarment in the late 19th century, it is now crafted in so many different styles and variations. Whether you are thinking of wearing it for casual office wear, under garment for a sporting event, or even as a bedtime wear, you will surely find a pair that will comfortable fit your needs. I especially like getting a variety of henley shirt styles, and two of my favorites are the business casual henley and the military henley.

For work and office purposes, my favorite business casual henley is something that I would consider wearing to work from time to time. It can be can be layered with a decently-collared blouse to build on its look or it can also be worn subtly underneath a blazer. What I like about it is that it can be worn on the office to look posh and chic without sacrificing the comfort that I am accustomed to.
Military-style henley, on the other hand, dominantly feature one or two chest pockets and mostly contain epaulet details. The recognizable ornamental shoulder piece imitates the military epaulets which appear in various sizes, lengths and colors --- they really give the shirt a strong and enticing look.

I enjoy wearing my henley shirt with skirts or solid colored denim or slacks because I think this combo looks really nice. If you are looking for some inspiration on where to get a pleasant piece of henley shirt, this V-neck Henley shirt from Babi n Pumkin is something that I really recommend that you check out.
